Celebrate, Connect, and Enjoy: Newark Valley Community Connection's November & December Event Highlights

At Newark Valley Community Connection, we’re all about bringing people together to celebrate, connect, and enjoy shared experiences. As the holiday season draws near, we’re excited to share both a recent highlight and the lineup of festive events planned for the weeks ahead.

Honoring Our Veterans

On November 11, we had an incredible turnout for our monthly Monday lunch, where we celebrated and honored our veterans. The event was at full capacity as community members gathered to share a meal, express gratitude, and connect. Thank you to everyone who joined us—it was a heartwarming day filled with appreciation and camaraderie.

November Events

• Dinner and Live Music – November 16: Get ready for an evening of good food and great music! We’ll be serving a delicious chicken fettuccine alfredo dinner, followed by dancing to live music from the popular country music group, The Dean Gobel Band. Join us for this lively evening to enjoy a hearty meal, wonderful music, and community spirit. Dinner at 5:30 pm with music to follow.

• Open Paint Night – November 21: Join us for a creative and collaborative evening at our open paint night! Newark Valley Community Connection will provide canvases, paints, and brushes at no charge. Attendees are free to choose their own subjects, and fellow artists can share painting techniques and inspiration. It’s a perfect event for all skill levels! 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

• Movie Offering – November 29, 6 PM: Kick off the holiday spirit with a free community movie night featuring Elf, a Christmas classic. Bring your family, friends, and a cozy blanket, and settle in for some holiday laughs and cheer. The event is free with refreshments including pizza, popcorn, and more available for purchase.

December Events: Holiday Magic and More

• Holiday Magic Celebration – December 7: Join us for the annual Village-wide Holiday Magic Celebration! We’ll start with a Craft Show from 9 am to 3 pm, showcasing local artisans and unique holiday gifts. Starting at 4:30 pm, the afternoon will be packed with festivities around the Village. Be sure to stop by at Community Connection, where we will have a Cake Walk, an Ugly Sweater Contest, photo booth backdrops and other holiday fun. We’re also working to have a train set up for kids to enjoy, and there will be a raffle with an assortment of baskets to win.

• Monday Lunch – December 9: Our regular monthly lunch will feature a delicious meal of pierogi and kielbasa. Come for great food, friendly faces, and a warm atmosphere.

• Holiday Sip and Paint – December 12: Enjoy a cozy, creative evening at our holiday sip and paint event. All materials will be provided, so just bring your holiday spirit and creativity! Whether you’re painting a winter scene or something of your own, it’s a wonderful way to relax and unwind. 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm $25 Suggested Donation

• Holiday Quick Bread Class – Tentatively December 17: Learn to bake a versatile holiday bread in this hands-on class! Participants will bake their own bread to take home, perfect for sharing with loved ones or gifting. 6 PM $15 Suggested Donation

As we head towards closing out the year, we invite everyone to join us for these events filled with fun, learning, and community connection.
