Exciting News! Movies, Stories with Music and Newark Valley Community Connection is Now a 501(c)(3) Public Charity!

We wanted to share our exciting news! We are thrilled to announce that Newark Valley Community Connection has officially received our IRS classification as a public charity! This determination confirms our status as an exempt 501(c)(3) organization, making us eligible to receive grants to expand our programs, and allowing your contributions to be tax-deductible.  For those interested, our tax ID is: 93-3449871.  This milestone marks a significant step forward in our mission to serve and enrich our community. Thank you all for being a part of our journey.

To celebrate this achievement and continue fostering community spirit, we have several exciting events lined up:

Summerfest Booth - July 27th  

Join us at Trout Ponds Park, where we will have a booth featuring carnival games and delicious baked goods. It's a perfect opportunity for family fun, learn more about us, and to support our cause.

Stories with Music - July 30th and August 1st at 4 PM  

Come enjoy enchanting stories accompanied by music at the Event Center. This event promises to be a magical experience for all ages and is a joint event with Tappan-Spaulding Memorial Library.

Movie Night - Saturday, August 3rd  

We are excited to present "Wonka" on our new screen at the Event Center. Doors open at 6:30.

Monday Lunch - August 12th  11:30 AM to 1:00 PM

Join us for a delicious meal of sausage and peppers, pasta salad, and dessert. It's a wonderful chance to gather, enjoy good food, and connect with fellow community members.

 *** August 12th, 1:00 PM:  Tioga Opportunities, Inc. wants to hear from you!  TOI is looking for people who live and work in Tioga County to participate in a Community Focus Group to collect valuable community input regarding needs impacting Tioga County.  Your voice matters and your insight regarding current needs will help TOI provide the right types of services and initiative that truly respond to the needs of local residents.

   *** August 13 at 3 pm Stories with Music at NV Community Connection Event Center   The Orchestra of the Southern Finger Lakes Brass Quintet present "Three Billy Goats Gruff" and "Little Red Riding Hood".

 ***August 14th Tioga Opportunities Health Clinic from 1 pm to 4 pm at the NV Community Connection hall.  Tioga Opportunities hosts Health clinics are scheduled for the second Wednesday of every month.

***August 17th Join us for a fun event sponsored by Newark Valley Community Connection, Inc., the Northern Tioga Chamber of Commerce, NYSUT, and Confluence Running at Spook Hill Farm 5k Trail Race/ Fun Run and Children's Run and Ride!  Walk, ride and explore. There will be live music, food, raffles, and fun! We will have a 5k trail race with gorgeous panoramic views, that will begin at 9:30 am. Register at: https://northerntiogachamber.org/northern-tioga-5k/  Those who wish to walk the trail can begin at approximately 10:00 am and a short course children's trail run and bike ride, targeted for children ages 3 to 7, will take place at approximately 10:45 am. Stick around to enjoy some raffles, good food and good music. Our goal is to develop a mountain bike trail for a race next year, so once the foot race is finished, we hope you take out your mountain bike and explore the trail. Eventually we hope to develop and connect biking and hiking trails in the area. Your feedback will be appreciated. Camping is available after 4:00 pm Friday through Sunday. $20 per night, pay at the gate.

***Art nights and a community cooking club will be starting soon and would love for you to volunteer to help with these. Stay tuned for more info and reach out if you are interested in assisting with these activities.
