👻 Haunted Halls: A Spooky Good Time for the Whole Family!
Our recent Haunted Halls Halloween event brought so many families through our doors, and it was wonderful to see everyone enjoying the fun!
Families made their way through our spooky walk-through, exploring different scenes filled with Halloween surprises, creepy characters, and plenty of thrills. After the walk, the fun continued upstairs, where everyone could relax, enjoy pizza and hot dogs, and take part in our Halloween activities.
There were creative treats, too—including our brownie witch-building food craft that families could make and take home!
Events like Haunted Halls remind us what community is all about: giving families a place to make memories, enjoy time together, and experience something fun right here in Newark Valley.
Now we’d love your help making next year’s event even better! What would you like to see at Haunted Halls next Halloween? More spooky scenes? Different activities? More family entertainment? We’d love to hear your ideas.
🛠️ Behind the scenes, we’ve been making important improvements to our buildings so we can better serve our community.
This year, we completed several significant projects, including the installation of new double doors to meet the requirements associated with our building’s new public-space designation under code. We also installed a new kitchen door to accommodate the eventual purchase of a commercial refrigerator, helping us prepare for future food service needs and community events.
We’ve also reclaimed an area in the lower level to begin developing a dedicated youth community space.
Now comes the exciting part: deciding what that space could become!
Could it be a place for teens to gather, play games, explore creative interests, learn new skills, or simply spend time together in a welcoming environment? What would make it useful and appealing to local youth and their families?
We want this space to reflect the needs and interests of the people it is intended to serve, and your ideas can help us get it right.
💬 Help Us Shape the Future of NVCC!
Newark Valley Community Connection began with a simple but important goal: to reduce isolation, bring people together, and create more opportunities for community engagement, AND to be an economic spark for our area of Northern Tioga.
We want our buildings to be places where people of different ages and interests can meet, discover new activities, share experiences, and build connections beyond their usual circles of friends and neighbors.
But we can’t do it alone—and we don’t want to simply guess what people want.
What would make you more interested in participating in community activities?
Help us with figuring this out please!
* What kinds of events, classes, workshops, or performances would you like us to offer?
* What would encourage you to attend an event for the first time?
* Are there activities you’d enjoy during evenings or weekends?
* What would bring more young adults, families, and new faces into our buildings?
* What ideas do you have for our youth space and next year’s event calendar?
We’d love to hear from people who already attend our events, those who haven’t joined us yet, and everyone in between. Your feedback will help us plan a calendar that reflects the interests of our wider community. Comment below or send us an email PLEASE!
Please share your ideas with us on Facebook, by email, or when you visit one of our events.
